DESCRIPTION:ISPPM Switz­er­land invi­tes you to its anni­ver­sa­ry con­fe­rence. The topic will be: “Too ear­ly – and yet in life. Pre­ma­tu­re birth: From sur­vi­val to life”.  \nPre­term infants begin life under excep­tio­nal cir­cum­s­tances. Thanks to modern medi­ci­ne, more and more of the­se child­ren sur­vi­ve today—yet their dischar­ge from the hos­pi­tal marks the begin­ning of an often unde­re­sti­ma­ted pha­se: the tran­si­ti­on into life. \nHow can this tran­si­ti­on from medi­cal­ly secu­red sur­vi­val toward deve­lo­p­ment, rela­ti­onship, and self-regu­la­ti­on in ever­y­day life suc­ceed? What traces do the ear­ly expe­ri­en­ces of sepa­ra­ti­on, inten­si­ve care, and imma­tu­re regu­la­ti­on lea­ve behind in the fur­ther cour­se of life? \nThe con­gress deli­bera­te­ly focu­ses on the peri­od fol­lo­wing hos­pi­ta­liza­ti­on. The cen­tral the­mes are ear­ly deve­lo­p­men­tal pro­ces­ses, the for­ma­ti­on of the rela­ti­onship bet­ween child and par­ents, and the ques­ti­on of how pro­fes­sio­nals can pro­vi­de sus­tainable sup­port for fami­lies during this sen­si­ti­ve pha­se. \nInter­di­sci­pli­na­ry per­spec­ti­ves from medi­ci­ne, psy­cho­lo­gy, and body the­ra­py com­bi­ne cur­rent know­ledge with prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ence. The goal is to deve­lop a deeper under­stan­ding of the long-term impacts of pre­term birth and to high­light ways in which a fra­gi­le begin­ning can evol­ve into a resi­li­ent life. \nAn inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­rence is plan­ned; simul­ta­neous Ger­man-Eng­lish inter­pre­ta­ti­on is inten­ded.\nFur­ther infor­ma­ti­on will fol­low.\n
