The German federal government is planning to amend the legal provisions of the current § 218 StGB. The board of the International Society for Pre- and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine (ISPPM e.V.) would like to contribute its knowledge from over 50 years of research and practical experience on this topic, which is so crucial for the self-determination of women and mothers and the protection of unborn life, to the discussion .

The communication of a scientific and practice-oriented prenatal and perinatal psychology opens up a broader view of birth culture for professionals in educational, psychological and medical fields of action. With publications, further education/training, conferences and congresses, extensive research and experience knowledge is made available.
Significantly, prenatal and perinatal psychology is relevant to today’s young adults in training, college, and in relation to their own parenting. That is why the ISPPM provides literature, counseling/therapy services, continuing education/training, and a platform for students to write their own professional theses.
