Statement of the Board of the International Society for Pre- and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine (ISPPM e.V.) on the amendment to Section 218 of the German Criminal Code (StGB) proposed in the government program of the SPD, FDP and Greens

The Ger­man fede­ral govern­ment is plan­ning to amend the legal pro­vi­si­ons of the cur­rent § 218 StGB. The board of the Inter­na­tio­nal Socie­ty for Pre- and Peri­na­tal Psy­cho­lo­gy and Medi­ci­ne (ISPPM e.V.) would like to con­tri­bu­te its know­ledge from over 50 years of rese­arch and prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ence on this topic, which is so cru­cial for the self-deter­mi­na­ti­on of women and mothers and the pro­tec­tion of unborn life, to the dis­cus­sion .
